- Ask your AI agent which version it is using. The server instructions now include the version number of the MCP server, so you can ask your AI client which version of CreatorDB MCP it is connected to. Reconnect your client to pick up the updated instructions.
-
Clearer range for the
platformScorefilter. The search tools now state thatplatformScoreis the creator’s percentile among all creators on the platform, from 0 to 1 (0.99 = top 1%), combining audience size, reach, engagement and growth. AI agents that assumed a 0 to 100 scale got no results. Reconnect your client to pick up the updated descriptions.
- Better guidance for content search. When asked for creators who have worked with a brand, AI agents now search creators by the brand’s own hashtags first, which covers older posts as well as recent ones. Content searches start with the 30-day window and hashtag filters, which cost the least, and use caption text only when there is no hashtag to search. Reconnect your client to pick up the updated instructions.
-
Content search on YouTube and Instagram.
New
search_youtube_contentandsearch_instagram_contenttools find individual videos and posts by caption, hashtag, brand mention and other filters.search_tiktok_contentis updated to match. All three search the last 30 days by default, accept atimeRangefor other windows, filter by creator, and sort by follower count. Each call has a fixed price set by the window length and filters, shown in the tool description and increatordb://credits/costs. -
Topics on Instagram and TikTok.
New
list_instagram_topicsandlist_tiktok_topicstools list the same topic taxonomy as YouTube, with each platform’s own IDs and creator counts. Thetopicsfilter onsearch_instagramandsearch_tiktokaccepts topic names and converts them to that platform’s IDs. Reconnect your client to pick up the updated instructions.
-
Search results that fit in your AI client.
Searches that add data with
fieldscould return more than an AI client shows to the model, so part of the result was cut off. The server now shortens search results step by step until they fit. It shortens long descriptions and bios first, then each creator’s top 10 hashtags and niches, then trims recent posts to their essentials. The result says what was shortened. The profile and content tools still return everything in full. - Updates while a search runs. Before they start, AI agents now say in one line what they will search for. When early results allow, they share a preview of up to five strong matches, and then give the full list. To get results from one or two searches instead, ask for a quick search. You can also ask for what the agent has found so far at any time.
- Handles and profile links in results. Each creator is listed with their platform, display name, @handle and a direct profile link, along with their follower count and why they fit. Reconnect your client to pick up the new instructions.
-
A more thorough search method for AI agents.
The server instructions now describe how to find the most relevant creators. Run several searches that use different topic signals (related niches, hashtags and YouTube topics) and different sort orders. Add each candidate’s bio and recent posts with
fields. Keep only creators whose own content shows they fit. A search this way usually takes one to two minutes and uses about 50 to 150 credits. Reconnect your client to pick up the new instructions. -
Security updates.
Version 1.9.1 updated the package’s dependencies, including the move to
zod4. There is no change to how the tools behave.
-
Niche and topic filters accept names.
The
nichesandtopicssearch filters accept display names (for exampleCanva) and theName/Categoryform, as well as taxonomy IDs. The server converts names to the matching IDs, and the result lists each conversion. A name with no exact match returns the closest IDs instead of running the search. -
Search results can include more data.
search_youtube,search_instagramandsearch_tiktokacceptfieldsto add profile, content, performance and other data to each result, billed per result at fractional prices. For example, a short bio, niches, country, language and three recent items cost 0.7 credits per result. -
Clearer guidance for AI agents.
The server sends instructions when a client connects, describing how CreatorDB data works: filters are exact, niches and topics use taxonomy IDs, and location is country-level. Structured search is the default for finding creators;
search_creators_nlsis for explicit natural-language requests. A search with no matches now explains how to widen it. Reconnect your client to pick up the instructions.
- CreatorDB is now listed in Claude’s connector directory Following CreatorDB MCP server becoming an official Claude connector, we updated the tutorial to show how to connect the official CreatorDB MCP server in Claude.
-
Added a credit cost reference.
The connector now exposes a readable reference at
creatordb://credits/coststhat lists the credit cost of each tool, so you can check it before making a call. You can read it without an API key, and it costs 0 credits. Your per-call charge is still returned ascreditsUsedon every response, and you can check your balance with theget_api_usagetool. -
Creator submissions are now free.
submit_youtube_creators,submit_instagram_creators, andsubmit_tiktok_creatorscost 0 credits for every outcome: accepted, already indexed, and rejected alike. The daily limit is 10,000 IDs per API key, counted per UTC day and shared across all three platforms. Tool descriptions previously stated 1 credit per accepted creator and a 1,000-per-day limit. -
Clarified that YouTube handles are accepted.
All seven per-creator YouTube tools (the six that take a
fieldsparameter, plusget_youtube_performance_history) accept a channel handle such as@mrbeastas an alternative to aUC…channel ID. The@prefix is optional. Handles have been supported since May 2026, but the tool descriptions said they were not accepted and had to be resolved to a channel ID first. Note thatsubmit_youtube_creatorsstill accepts channel IDs only, while the Instagram and TikTok submit tools accept handles. -
Creator search now returns the most prominent match first.
By default,
search_youtube,search_instagram, andsearch_tiktoknow sort results by follower count, highest first. Previously, a search withoutsortByreturned matches in an arbitrary order, which could rank look-alike and auto-generated channels above the creator you were looking for. Passing your ownsortBy, ordesc: false, still takes precedence. - Tool behavior annotations are now in the published package. All 45 tools carry annotations describing whether they read or modify data, so MCP clients can, for example, ask for confirmation before running a tool that modifies data. These annotations were added in an earlier version that was never published.
- Corrected sponsorship and Instagram content details. The tool descriptions now accurately describe sponsorship depth and the Instagram response shape. Empty brand identifiers are now handled.
- Resolved dependency security advisories. Seven advisories in the published package’s dependency tree, three of them high severity, have been resolved.
If you connected the connector before this release, reconnect once to see the new credit cost reference. MCP clients negotiate available capabilities when they first connect, so an existing connection will not pick up a newly added one. See Reconnecting the connector.
-
Six creator endpoints now use
POSTand support fractional calls. Six per-creator endpoints (profile, performance, audience, contact, content detail, and sponsorship) moved fromGETtoPOSTso they can accept afieldsparameter. With fractional calls, you’re charged only for the fields you request. If you set up the connector before v1.4.0, it may still hold the older tool definitions, and calls will fail with a404error. Reconnect the connector to refresh the tool definitions. For details, see Reconnecting the connector. -
Added creator submission tools.
You can now use
submit_youtube_creators,submit_instagram_creators, andsubmit_tiktok_creatorsto submit creators who aren’t in CreatorDB’s database yet, so they can be indexed. - Corrected credit costs in tool descriptions. Several tool descriptions listed outdated credit costs. They now match what the API charges.
- Added MCP server. Released the initial version of our MCP server that allows your AI agents to search the CreatorDB database using our API 3.0 endpoints.
- Added skills. Released CreatorDB skills for Claude.
