# Managing Creators

> How to add creators to the CreatorDB database, read a creator's profile, and download creator profiles.

You can add creators who aren't in the CreatorDB database yet, read a creator's profile to judge their performance, audience, and sponsorships, and download creator profiles from your search results. To organize creators, see [Managing groups](/creatordb_app/user_guide/managing_groups.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The steps on this page assume you're logged in to CreatorDB. If you don't have an account yet, see [Create an account](/creatordb_app/getting_started/getting_started.md#create-an-account).

### Platform and section tabs

Below the header, choose a platform on the left and a section on the right:

* **All platforms**, **YouTube**, **Instagram**, or **TikTok**. **All platforms** combines the creator's accounts; a platform tab shows only that account. Only platforms where the creator has an account appear.
* **Overview**, **Audience**, **Related**, **Content**, or **Brand**.

The sections work the same way on every platform, so they're described once below. Differences between platforms are listed in [Platform differences](#platform-differences).

### Overview

#### Platform statistics

On **All platforms**, the top of **Overview** has one card per platform.

![Platform statistics cards for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok](https://mintcdn.com/creatordb-589c46f5/mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT/creatordb_app/images/user_guide/managing_creators/platform_statistics.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT\&q=85\&s=5d9a305d60a28e2cbb9374030f70df0f)

Each card shows the account's followers or subscribers, a **Main platform** label on the creator's primary platform, an **Active** label if they posted in the last 30 days, the 30-day follower growth rate, and the account's **Engagement rate**, average views or plays, average likes and comments, and **Latest content** date.

On a platform tab, the same numbers appear in more detail in **Key statistics**:

![YouTube key statistics with numbered callouts](https://mintcdn.com/creatordb-589c46f5/mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT/creatordb_app/images/user_guide/managing_creators/youtube_key_statistics.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT\&q=85\&s=4e419e019a66475e70c0da8ae7f9f2bb)

| No. | Label | Definition |
| - | - | - |
| 1 | **Videos** | Key metrics for the creator's recent YouTube videos. |
| 2 | **Shorts** | Key metrics for recent Shorts. |
| 3 | **Recent** | Key metrics for the most recent 20 videos and Shorts combined. **View range** isn't shown here. |
| 4 | **Active subscribers** | Average video views ÷ subscribers. |
| 5 | **Avg. views** | Average views per video. |
| 6 | **Engagement rate** | (Likes + comments) ÷ subscribers. |
| 7 | **Avg. likes / comments** | Average likes and comments per video. |
| 8–9 | **Last 90 days** / **Last 30 days** | The period for **View range**. Content posted in the past 3 days is left out. |
| 10–12 | **Minimum** / **Median** / **Maximum** | The lowest, median, and highest views in that period. |

On YouTube, **Sponsorship rate** shows CreatorDB's AI estimate of what the creator charges for sponsored content in US dollars, as a **Flat fee** and a **Target CPM** (cost per 1,000 views). Select **Videos** or **Shorts** for each content type. It isn't available on the Free plan.

![YouTube Sponsorship rate](https://mintcdn.com/creatordb-589c46f5/mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT/creatordb_app/images/user_guide/managing_creators/youtube_sponsorship_rate.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT\&q=85\&s=2866c182d9fced787c1cb8fe34408236)

#### CreatorDB score and rankings

![CreatorDB score and follower rankings](https://mintcdn.com/creatordb-589c46f5/mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT/creatordb_app/images/user_guide/managing_creators/creatordb_score_rankings.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT\&q=85\&s=6c94afe9a71f3a7b5c14407789e79870)

The **CreatorDB score** (0 to 100) compares the creator with all other creators on six indicators: followers, average views, engagement rate, follower growth, average views growth, and engagement growth. The score is relative: a typical creator scores about 75, and a score of 90 or more puts a creator in roughly the top 7% on that platform. Each of the five stars is 20 points. On a platform tab, the same score for that account alone is called the **Platform score**. The CreatorDB score combines the platform scores, weighted by how highly the creator's follower count ranks on each platform. The rating label maps to these ranges:

| Rating | Score range |
| - | - |
| **Poor** | 0 to 19 |
| **OK** | 20 to 39 |
| **Good** | 40 to 59 |
| **Great** | 60 to 79 |
| **Excellent** | 80 to 89 |
| **Superb** | 90 to 100 |

The rankings show where the creator's followers rank among creators in the same country, in the same language, and globally.

#### Growth, upload time, and content mix

Further down **Overview**:

* **Followers by platform**: follower count and growth over the last 7, 30, and 90 days, and a chart of each platform's followers. **Follower growth** switches the chart to growth rate. On a platform tab, the chart can show average views, subscribers, or engagement rate, and their growth rates, over 7, 30, or 90 days.
* **Monthly gain in total followers**: followers gained or lost each month for the past year, and when the creator was added to CreatorDB.
* **Upload time (heat map)**: when the creator posted their most recent 20 pieces of content, by day of the week and time of day (night, morning, afternoon, evening) in the creator's local time.
* **Content breakdown**: the share of each content type (YouTube videos and Shorts, Instagram posts and reels, TikTok videos) in the last 90 days. On **All platforms**, switch to **Platform** to see the share by platform.
* **Performance** (All platforms) or **Ranking metrics** (platform tabs): how the creator's views, followers, engagement, and growth compare with similar accounts, rated from **Poor** to **Superb**. On a platform tab, you can compare by content type or by topic.
* **Views interquartile range** (platform tabs): the minimum, 25% quartile, median, 75% quartile, and maximum views of recent content, so you can see how consistent the creator's views are.
* **Recent sponsorships**: the latest brands to sponsor the creator. Click **View details** to go to the **Brand** section.

### Audience

**Audience** shows the demographics of the creator's audience on the selected platform (on **All platforms**, the main platform): top region, gender, and age group, average age, the top countries, a gender split, and an age breakdown. Audience data is generated by CreatorDB's AI models.

### Related

**Related** lists similar creators that CreatorDB recommends based on the creator's content. Use it to find creators in the same niche or to research competitors.

### Content

**Content** shows the creator's most recent content and its performance. Click a piece of content to see its details. Below it:

* **Content analytics**: how often the creator posts (**Content per week** and **Content per month**) over the past 12 months.
* **Content tags**: the creator's most-used hashtags, up to 32. Larger text means more frequent use.
* **Top 5 topics** and **Top 10 niches**: the creator's main topics and the more specific niches CreatorDB's AI assigns to their content.

### Brand

**Brand** shows the creator's sponsored YouTube and Instagram content from the past year. CreatorDB doesn't collect sponsorship data for TikTok.

![Brand section with recent sponsors](https://mintcdn.com/creatordb-589c46f5/mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT/creatordb_app/images/user_guide/managing_creators/brand_tab_all_platforms.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=mBmAJrUVyZwiYyoT\&q=85\&s=f6eed56a446e9492cf93be75fa912563)

#### YouTube brand

* **Content breakdown** and **Sponsored content** / **Total content**: how many videos were sponsored out of all videos in the past year, and the engagement rate, average views, likes, and comments of sponsored videos next to all videos.
* **Industries**: the industries of the creator's sponsors. Click one to show only those sponsors.
* **Recent sponsors**: each sponsoring brand with its total and latest sponsored content. Sort by **Most recent** or **Total sponsored content**. Click a brand to show only its videos, or the link icon to open its [brand profile](/creatordb_app/user_guide/managing_brands.md).
* **Sponsored content**: the sponsored videos. Sort by **Most recent**, **Views**, **Likes**, or **Engagement rate**.

#### Instagram brand

The Instagram **Brand** section has the same parts as [YouTube brand](#youtube-brand), for sponsored posts and reels.

### Platform differences

| | YouTube | Instagram | TikTok |
| - | - | - | - |
| **Content types** | Videos, Shorts | Posts, reels | Videos |
| **Engagement rate** | (Likes + comments) ÷ subscribers | (Likes + comments) ÷ followers | (Likes + comments + shares) ÷ followers |

| **View range** | Videos and Shorts | Reels only | Videos |
| **Sponsorship rate** | Yes | No | No |
