# Scan for Creators' Sponsorship History

> How to use Brand scan to check which creators have worked with specific brands in the past year.

**Brand scan** checks a list of creators against brands you choose and shows which creators were sponsored by those brands in the past year. Use it to spot creators who already work with competitors before you reach out, or to find creators who have worked with brands like yours.

>
> * Brand scan checks **YouTube** videos only. Instagram and TikTok creators can be included in a scan, but they always show as having no sponsored content.
> * Only creators in the CreatorDB database are scanned. A scan can include as many creators as a group on your plan, and the number of scans you can run depends on your plan. For details, see [CreatorDB pricing](https://www.creatordb.app/pricing).
> * The steps on this page assume you're logged in to CreatorDB. If you don't have an account yet, see [Create an account](/creatordb_app/getting_started/getting_started.md#create-an-account).

## Choosing the creators to scan

Click **Brand scan** in the left sidebar, then choose where the creators come from:

* **Scan by importing creators:** click **Import creators**. Select a platform and enter one creator per line (@handle, channel ID, or URL), or click **Upload** and select a .csv file. Click **Download template** for the file format. Then click **Select brands**.
* **Scan by group:** click **Select a group**, select one of your groups, and click **Select brands**. For creating groups, see [Managing groups](/creatordb_app/user_guide/managing_groups.md).

You can also open a group and click **Scan past sponsors** above its creator list.

## Selecting brands and starting the scan

The **Scan past sponsors** page opens.

| No. | Label | Description |
| - | - | - |
| 1 | **Scan for brands** | Search for a brand by name and click it to add it. |
| 2 | **Added brands** | The brands this scan will check. Click **x** on a brand to remove it, or **Reset** to clear them all. |
| 3 | **Suggested brands** | Brands you can add with one click. |
| 4 | **Saved brands** | Brand lists you saved earlier. Click one to add its brands. |
| 5 | **Save** | Saves the added brands as a list so you can scan for them again later. Enter a name and click **Save**. |
| 6 | **Start scan** | Runs the scan. It can take a few minutes for large lists. |

## Viewing scan results

| No. | Label | Description |
| - | - | - |
| 1 | **Summary** | **Total creators**, how many have **No sponsorship history** with the selected brands, how many have **Sponsorships found**, and how many videos were scanned (**Content scanned**). |
| 2 | **Search creators...** | Finds a creator in the results. |
| 3 | **No sponsorship history** / **Sponsorships found** | Switches between creators without and with sponsorships from the selected brands. The results open on **No sponsorship history**. |
| 4 | **Video Posted Date** | Shows sponsored videos posted within 2 months, 6 months, or 1 year. |
| 5 | **Sponsorships found** | For each brand: the number of sponsored videos, the most recent one with its views and publish date, a link to watch it, and the date of the creator's **Last content** for that brand. Click **+N more contents** to see the rest. |
| 6 | **Add to new group** | Adds the creator to the new group panel. To add several at once, select them (or **Select all**) and click **Add to new group** above the list. |
| 7 | **Create a new group from scan results** | The creators you've added. Click **Create new group** to save them as a group, or **Download CSV** to download their data. |
| 8 | **End Scan** | Leaves the results. |

## Ending a scan

Click **End Scan**, then click **End scan** to confirm. Scan results aren't saved, so create a group or download the results first if you need them.
